Opening credits shows a carefree Han Pil Hoon (Joo Won) and a hectic Choi Kang Hee (Kim Kyung Ja). Both are taking civil servant classes. The difference between their social status is also so obvious with how they do their day to day lives. Han Pil Hoon bets his car to race while Kim Kyung Ja declines an offer to be a dating escort even if it means working every other semester.
Kim Kyung Ja studies late into the morning, Han Pil Hoon arrives at his family's house at 3:38am. His father (Han Joo Man) Dok Go Young Jae scolds him for wasting his time preparing for the civil servant's exam for the past 3 years. His mother Go Soo Ja (Im Ye Jin) intervenes and Han Pil Hoon escapes to his room which shows a poster of Pierce Brosnan's 007 film "Tomorrow Never Dies". Flashback to when Han Pil Hoon was a kid, watching the same movie. He was impressed with James Bond and stole a poster which is now in his room. On the living room, Han Pil Hoon's mother told his father that he had his future told, that their son needs to find a woman so he can mature. A woman riding a racing tiger. Han Pil Hoon's father said that it doesn't matter what his mother does so as long as he reports to the office. Han Pil Hoon's mother bribes him a new car if he goes out to 10 blind dates. They haggle and agreed to 5 dates, minimum of 2 hours per date and to meet them at least twice. Han Pil Hoon agrees.
Kim Kyung Ja is at one of her part time jobs when her mom calls and says that her father is hurt. She visits her parents and begs her father Kim Pan Suk (Lee Han Wie) to go to the hospital since it's the fourth time that he has broken bones due to being drunk while behind the tiller. Her mother Oh Mak Nae (Kim Mi Kyung) corrects her and says that including the minor injuries this will be his 12th. Father and daughter starts arguing about Kim Kyung Ja's overlong stay in college and her father's drinking habits. Kim Kyung Ja eventually leaves while her father tells her to leave. She gives her mother some money for a perm among other things and leaves their house.
Han Pil Hoon goes on his dates, doing his best to irritate the ladies. They all leave. Kim Kyung Ja tries to get a loan but gets declined. Kim Kyung Ja finally agrees to go on the dating service. Han Pil Hoon's mother caught on what he was doing and suggested that he continues to meet the other ladies saying "Fate comes like a theif". The two meet during a date. Turns out the dating service sets up dates as per the client's requirements, in this case Han Pil Hoon's mother's requirements. Kim Kyung Ja poses as a daughter of a diplomat, with a sign of the tiger and introduces herself as Kim Seo Won. Han Pil Hoon's antics didn't work since Kim Kyung Ja didn't really care what was happening and started studying like Pil Hoom. Han Pil Hoon's asks her out again and starts daydreaming about her.
On the NIS office, senior agent answers the NIS hotline and loses his temper. He asks his boss out for lunch and asks him to train new recruits. His boss agrees and they start interviewing.
Someone arrives from outside the country and check on some pictures including Han Pil Hoon.
NIS interviews commences. Han Pil Hoon and Kim Kyung Ja are part of the interview pool. They go through their interviews and were asked to leave after. Both are under the felt that they failed their interviews.
